The Visitor Center inside Corte di Giarola

Corte di Giarola was acquired in December 1997, thanks to the funding from the Italian Ministry of the Environment, Regione Emilia-Romagna, the Province of Parma and the associated municipalities, as well as from the managing Consorzio Parco del Taro; since then, the whole monumental complex has been protected in order to preserve its structure and open it to public use.

In 1999, Corte di Giarola started to house the Park Offices and Visitor Center, consisting of an exhibit area and an auditorium.

Corte di Giarola houses the Park Offices, the Visitor Center "Sotto il segno dell'acqua", the conference hall, the theatre, the Tomato and Pasta Museum and Agrilab, a cooking workshop.

The Visitor Center develops on two floors: the ground floor, which was once used as a stable, and the first floor, where a large room housed in the past a spinning mill.

The Visitor Center has public reception facilities, and is also equipped to house congresses and temporary exhibits.
Inside, the visitor can find a permanent exhibit on the river environment, the shapes of the rocks, the beauty of the flora, the diversity of the fauna, the importance of the river and the water, as well as the charm of the historical buildings.

You can rent mountain bikes for both children and adults to discover the park, the Via Francigena and the Taro and Boschi di Carrega Park cycle route safely and in complete comfort. Stay tuned and always visit our homepage with news in the foreground to stay up-to-date.
