Knowing the Nature Reserve

In the northeastern side of the Province of Parma, near the Po river, the nature reserve protects an abandoned branch of the Parma stream, which changed its course several times before flowing into the big river within the flood plain on the right.
Parma Morta, not active any longer since the late 1800s, today is a long and thin wetland of about 5 km, testimony to the ancient river dynamics of the plain and a real basin of biodiversity for Parma's country.
