The Corte Theatre is located in the south wing of the Corte di Giarola. It was created from the old woodshed and warehouse and was almost entirely rebuilt following the bombings of World War II.
This reconstruction took place thanks to funding from the Emilia Romagna Region (Italian Regional Law 13/99), the Municipality of Collecchio and Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio.
It proposes a theatre season inspired by the recovery of the tradition of oral storytelling, about contemporary events that are often forgotten, in support of the transmission of historical memory.
The theatre also dedicates space to children and families with shows designed for them.
The theatre season is realised by the association "UOT_unità di organizzazione teatrale", with the aim of creating a centre of artistic expression, attentive to innovation and the civil value of doing theatre; a living and open space where different languages and generations can meet.
